Frequently asked questions.

What is Streamcheck?

Streamcheck is a device that consists of a special measuring device with an integrated sensor and an app. It is used to regularly monitor urine flow and other important parameters of urinary tract health.

What makes Streamcheck different from conventional test strips?

Conventional strip tests are not suitable for prevention, as they are only used when symptoms are already present. The test strips alone provide information about whether biochemical values are elevated. A urine flow measurement, which provides further important insights, is not carried out. Users then have to assess the self-test themselves – without receiving any advice on what to do.

Why is a uroflowmetry test performed at the doctor's not enough?

Until now, uroflowmetry has only been technically feasible at the doctor's office. However, doctors agree that the ‘one-time effect’ has little informative value. By measuring the urine flow at home, on the other hand, data from various measurements is recorded: this makes slow changes in urine flow visible – the first signs of a bladder emptying disorder or a weakening of the urine stream do not go unnoticed.

What are the advantages of Streamcheck compared to a conventional doctor's visit?

Streamcheck provides convenient, continuous monitoring of urinary tract health from home, reducing the time between doctor visits.

Can I take the test during treatment?

Yes, the test can also be used during an ongoing treatment to monitor progress and adjust the treatment if necessary.

How does the test work?

It's simple: you use the measuring device when you urinate to measure the urine flow. The sensor collects the data and sends it to the app, which analyses and displays it. Meanwhile, your urine is also tested for important biomarkers.

How often should I take the test?

It is recommended that the test be carried out regularly, ideally weekly or bi-weekly. This way, you can quickly recognise changes in the health of your urinary tract and react in time.

Who should use Streamcheck?

Everyone. Streamcheck is ideal for people who want to continuously monitor their urinary tract health, especially for men aged 50 and over or those with urological complaints.

What data is collected and how secure is it?

The device collects data such as urine flow rate, bladder volume and frequency of urination. This data is stored securely in the app and can only be accessed by you and your doctor.

What happens if my results are not normal?

This is checked: If your results are not normal, the app will alert you and give you recommendations for action.

Does Streamcheck prevent prostate cancer?

Streamcheck does not replace the early detection examination for prostate cancer. However, numerous diseases such as bladder emptying disorders, prostate enlargement with urine flow obstruction, kidney disease (protein in the urine, among other things) or bladder diseases up to and including bladder cancer (blood in the urine, among other things) can be detected at an early stage.
