How Streamcheck works

Early detection at home - in just a few steps

1. bi-weekly measurement of urine

Little time required, reliable evaluation: The biochemical values and flow data of the urine are measured twice a month with the help of our measuring device. They are then automatically transmitted to the Streamcheck app.

2. uroflow curve

In the app, a trend analysis of the collected health values is created in the form of the so-called uroflow curve. It also shows whether the amount of biomarkers in the urine corresponds to the normal value.

3. Early detection

The evaluation of the urine data takes place directly in the Streamcheck app. Even minimal abnormalities are detected in this way. In this case, the user is given concrete recommendations for further action.

4. medical report

Every three months, the uroflow data and biochemical values can be discussed with a medical specialist using a report created in the app. At a glance, possible first signs of urological diseases can be recognised and treated in time.

Streamcheck examines these aspects in a short time

Max Flow Rate (QMax)

The maximum urine flow rate should be 30ml/s at best. Obstruction of the urethra due to benign prostatic enlargement or bladder emptying dysfunction can cause a low QMax value.

Duration of the discharge

The bladder should empty as quickly as possible and with a steady flow of urine.
If it takes longer than 40 seconds, this could also indicate a bladder emptying disorder.

Uroflow curve

The uroflow curve visualises the bladder emptying pattern (stop-and-go) and registers possible dribbling or bladder congestion, which could be the first symptoms of a urological disease.

Volume eliminated

The volume indicates the amount of urine emptied.
Bladder capacity or overactivity can influence the volume.

Uroflowmetry

Uroflowmetry is a medical procedure used for early and painless diagnosis of potential damage to the urinary bladder or urinary tract.

The decisive factor here is the bi-monthly performance of the urine flow measurement: As important parameters, the urine flow rate, the excreted volume, the duration of emptying and the bladder emptying pattern are recorded every fortnight.

The individual measurements can be combined over time to form a so-called trend analysis, which reveals even a slight deterioration in the flow data. The Streamcheck app displays the trend analysis in the form of a uroflowmetry diagram.

Biomarker control

In the course of uroflowmetry, a number of so-called biochemical markers are also tested using an integrated test strip. If one of the values is outside the normal range for a longer period of time, a visit to a specialist is recommended.

Due to the monitoring of important health values as well as the detailed urine flow measurement, Streamcheck offers the ideal combination to both detect the first signs of bladder emptying disorders and to counteract acute bladder or kidney diseases in time.

Frequently asked questions

What distinguishes Streamcheck from conventional test strips?

Conventional strip tests do not serve as a precautionary measure because they are only used when symptoms are already present. Test strips only provide information on whether biochemical values are elevated. A urine flow measurement, which provides further important information, is missing. Users must then carry out the assessment of the self-test themselves - without receiving a recommendation on what to do.

Why is uroflowmetry performed by a doctor not sufficient?

Uroflowmetry can technically only be carried out by a doctor. However, medical experts agree that the "one-time effect" is only of limited significance. By contrast, urine flow measurement during a natural urine flow (at home) records the data from various measurements: In this way, slow changes in urine flow become visible - the first signs of a bladder emptying disorder or weakening of the urinary stream do not go unnoticed.

What is the process in concrete terms?

After switching on the device with the button on the shaft, the ring lights up red twice. Now the device must be connected to the app and a urine strip inserted. When the ring changes colour from red to green, the connection is active and the device is ready for use.
Now you can urinate through the ring in your personal comfortable situation while sitting or standing and the data is automatically saved on the mobile phone. The device can be rinsed under running water, the test strip can be disposed of with the household waste and Streamcheck is ready for the next use.

Can more than one user make use of the device?

Up to 6 users can be stored in the app. It can be adjusted to suit different users.

What about the protection of my health data?

Health data belongs to the sensitive data with an increased need for protection. The protection of this data from access by third parties therefore has an enormously high priority at Streamcheck - only you have access to your personal data at any time. The anonymous evaluation of your health data is carried out by a doctor with a corresponding assessment of the results. Moreover, the anonymous evaluation of the data by a doctor only takes place if you actively agree to the data evaluation in the app.

Does Streamcheck prevent prostate cancer?

Streamcheck does not replace the screening examination for prostate cancer. However, numerous diseases such as bladder emptying disorders, prostate enlargement with urine outflow obstruction, diseases of the kidney (protein in the urine, etc.) or diseases of the bladder up to bladder cancer (blood in the urine, etc.) could possibly be detected at an early stage.

Can women also use Streamcheck?

Women in particular can take a test at an early stage in case of urination problems (pain, frequent urge to urinate, etc.). If there is an indication of an incipient urinary tract infection, countermeasures can be taken at an early stage through a targeted approach. Antibiotics (intolerance! resistance!) are often avoided. The response of the therapy is documented by self-monitoring.
